The operating principles of children's meridian massage

Meridian massage can also be said to be a form of massage, and massage is very common in traditional Chinese medicine. Massage may be used in many situations inside the body. In addition to adults, massage for children is also very necessary. However, there are many things to pay attention to when massaging children, especially some massage methods and means. Therefore, the operating principles of massage should also be taken seriously.

1. Massage method

When massaging a child, it is best to use ointment or talcum powder to prevent skin damage during massage. You can also use juice from mashed onions and garlic to dispel cold, detoxify, and promote menstruation and aid yang. Children's skin is delicate, so when massaging, we must use force from light to heavy, step by step, until the child's skin turns slightly red.

2. Massage distribution

During children's meridian massage, the acupoints on the upper limbs are generally the same for both men and women, and the left hand is usually massaged. Parents must be full of love and confidence when massaging their children, and do it in a calm state. Do not regard massaging children as a chore, and do not have too much psychological burden, because this is a very good opportunity for parent-child communication. Parents can talk to their children gently while massaging them.

3. Time

The best time to massage your child is when he or she is in good physical condition, between meals, and when he or she is neither tired nor hungry. When parents massage their children, if they are massaging the abdomen or rubbing the arms, they must not do it immediately after a meal, as this can easily cause vomiting or abdominal discomfort in children.

4. Indications

Common diseases such as colds, abdominal distension, diarrhea, fever, etc. require continuous massage 5 to 7 times, once a day; when the condition is more serious, it can be done twice a day. For chronic diseases and daily health care, massage can be performed continuously for 1 to 2 days, once a day, then once every other day, or even once a week.
