Things you can't eat during breastfeeding

Mothers who are breastfeeding should avoid overeating for the sake of their baby's and their own health. There are many types of things that cannot be eaten during breastfeeding, but don’t be bothered by it in your daily life and give more consideration to your diet.

1. Spicy foods and caffeine : Onions, garlic and other spicy foods should be avoided because these foods will change the taste and acidity of the milk after being absorbed by the mother's digestive system, and can cause diarrhea or bloating in the baby.

2. Foods that only contain calories : Try not to replace a reasonable diet with greasy or sweet foods, such as fried potato chips, candy and cakes. Moreover, fried foods are difficult to digest. Mothers who have just given birth have weak digestive abilities, so eating fried foods is not conducive to their recovery.

3. Stimulating food : The stimulating food that the mother eats during breastfeeding will enter the baby's body through breast milk and affect the baby's health. But you can eat a small amount of condiments, such as pepper, vinegar, etc.

4. Chocolate : Because the cocoa alkali contained in chocolate will penetrate into breast milk and accumulate in the baby's body. Theobromine can damage the nervous system and heart, relax muscles, increase urination, and cause indigestion and unstable sleep in babies. If mother eats too much chocolate, it will affect her appetite and make her fat.

5. Pickled fish and meat : The average daily salt intake for adults is 4.5-9 grams. According to your usual habits, do not avoid salt, but also do not eat too salty food.
