Parents should often inspire their children to strengthen self-control. Self-encouragement, self-prohibition, self-commands and self-suggestion are all good forms of will training. For example, when a child finds it difficult to start taking action, you can let him count to "three" or give himself commands: "Be bolder!" "Don't be afraid!" "Hold on a little longer!" etc.
