What to do if your child has a hot forehead?

Children's resistance is not that good, so they are most likely to have a fever. At this time, parents will find that their children's foreheads are particularly hot when they touch them, and then they will break out in a lot of cold sweat, which is very harmful to the child's brain, so you must try to cool down the child as much as possible. You can use a warm towel to wipe the patient's body, which can have a cooling effect, but remember not to use a cold towel, otherwise the nerves will be damaged.

Treatment

Children with fever should not wear too many clothes or cover themselves with too thick quilts, so as not to affect the dissipation of body heat. Children with fever will sweat a lot during the process of cooling down. At this time, you should use a hot towel to wipe off the sweat on the chest, back, armpits and forehead, and change the underwear in time; pay attention to replenishing nutrients and water.

When you have a fever, the consumption of nutrients and water increases, and the digestive function decreases. Therefore, you should reduce your diet appropriately and eat some nutritious and easily digestible liquid or semi-liquid food, such as soy milk, rice porridge, noodle soup, wontons, etc.; try to feed more water, such as fruit juice, sugar water, boiled water or cool drinks; drinking more water is not only beneficial for reducing fever, but also helps in the excretion of bacterial toxins.

When the fever is high, saliva secretion decreases and the oral mucosa becomes dry, which is suitable for the growth and reproduction of bacteria and can cause glossitis, stomatitis, etc. Therefore, you should pay attention to oral hygiene; you can rinse your mouth with warm water before meals to help increase your appetite, and rinse your mouth with salt water or brush your teeth after meals. Feeding water frequently can also achieve the purpose of cleaning the mouth.

Any disease has a certain development and recovery process. Even if the diagnosis is clear and the medication is timely, it may take 2 to 3 days to subside the fever. Some viral infections or more serious bacterial infections may last 5 to 7 days. If the diagnosis is clear and the condition is relatively good except for the fever, you should follow the doctor's instructions to give your child medicine or injections on time and provide enhanced care. Do not go to several hospitals several times a day just because the fever has not subsided. This will not only prevent the child from getting rest, causing treatment disruptions and affecting recovery from the illness, but it may also cause the child to be infected with other diseases again.

Antipyretics and physical cooling methods cannot be used at the same time because the cooling mechanisms of the two methods are completely different. After using antipyretics, the patient will experience dilation of blood vessels throughout the body, opening of pores, and increased sweating, thus achieving the purpose of cooling down. The application of physical cooling methods generally achieves the purpose of cooling by causing local blood vessels to contract due to the effect of cold, and the heat is dissipated through conduction. If you use physical cooling immediately after using antipyretics, the dilated blood vessels will immediately contract, the sweat pores will close, and sweating will stop. Not only will the fever reduction be affected, but the sick child will also feel very uncomfortable. Generally, physical cooling methods should be used first. If the body temperature does not drop, drugs should be used to reduce fever after 1 to 2 hours.
