Children with styes are less likely to recover on their own. You can apply some antibacterial and anti-inflammatory ointments externally, and you can apply hot compress to the area with a clean towel. If the condition cannot return to normal after a period of treatment, it is recommended to go to an ophthalmology hospital for treatment as soon as possible. In clinical practice, patients with styes are often treated with surgical incision and drainage. When using surgery for treatment, you should pay attention to eye care to prevent pus or bacteria from entering the eyes. The original stye of a baby's stye is caused by an infection, usually a staphylococcal infection, which usually involves the eyelid margin or one or more glands inside the eyelid. Styes can form spontaneously or be caused by hordeolum. A person may have 1-2 styes in his or her lifetime, and some people may have recurrent attacks. When a child has a stye, do not let the child squeeze out the pus by himself or help the child squeeze out the pus, as this may easily cause complications. If an external stye is allowed to burst and drain pus after it becomes purulent, it often causes sequelae such as eyelid deformation, ectropion, and incomplete closure of the upper and lower palpebral fissures due to scar contraction, so attention should be paid.

Home care for stye?

1. Purulence. Applying hot compress before the pus head forms can promote suppuration. Some milder inflammations can be eliminated with hot compresses.

2. Drain pus. When the pus head just appears, it should be incised in time to drain the pus, which can reduce the child's pain and shorten the course of the disease.

3. Apply local eye drops. 0.25% chloramphenicol eye drops can be used. However, if there is a lot of secretion, use rifampicin eye drops; if the baby falls asleep, you can use chloramphenicol eye ointment.

4. When pus appears, do not rub it with your hands, let alone squeeze it. Because there are more bacteria on the hands and the eyelids are rich in blood vessels, it is easy for the infection to spread.
