What is the normal body temperature of the baby during the month?

The baby may not be as comfortable after birth as in the mother's womb, so some babies will often get sick after birth. What is the normal body temperature for a baby during the confinement period? Normal body temperature is a sign of good health. Because the baby is relatively weak after birth, parents must keep the baby warm. However, there is no need to dress the baby too much, as this may make the baby sick easily.

1. What is the normal body temperature of a baby after confinement?

If the baby's body temperature is over 37 degrees, it is generally normal and is probably related to over-dressing. By reducing the amount of clothing you wear, your body temperature can drop below 37 degrees. Wearing too much clothing can easily cause heat rash and aggravate eczema. The younger you are, the higher your basal body temperature is. Also, the younger you are, the worse your body temperature regulation ability is, and it is more easily affected by the ambient temperature and the amount of clothing you wear. The body temperature of some babies can rise to around 38 degrees when they are dressed too thickly.

2. Postpartum baby fever care

1. Fever caused by excessively high ambient temperature, such as hot water bottles and indoor stoves causing the room temperature to be too high. Because the newborn's body temperature regulation function is not perfect and cannot maintain the balance of heat production and heat dissipation, it causes fever. This type of fever only requires adjusting the ambient temperature and does not require treatment.

2. Dehydration fever: Newborns born in the hot summer will become dehydrated due to factors such as excessive sweating and lack of milk intake, and their body temperature will rise to 38℃ to 40℃. However, the newborns are generally in good condition and have normal mental responses. Their body temperature will drop rapidly after being fed water or rehydrating, and the fever rarely lasts for more than one day. This is called "dehydration fever." This kind of fever can be relieved by simply replenishing enough fluids. No other special treatment is required.

3. Fever caused by infectious diseases is often divided into antepartum infection, intrapartum infection and postpartum infection. Antenatal infection and intrapartum infection usually cause fever 1 to 2 days after delivery; postpartum infection usually occurs about 1 week after delivery, and is often caused by respiratory tract infection, sepsis, abscesses, skin pustules and other factors. The most important thing for this type of fever is to find out the cause of the fever and then treat it accordingly. When the fever exceeds 39°C, physical methods can be used to reduce it with better results. If necessary, antipyretics can be used under the guidance of a doctor. Do not abuse drugs to avoid adverse consequences.

The normal body temperature of a postpartum baby has been simply answered above. Generally, the baby's body temperature is between 36 and 37 degrees Celsius, but in many cases it will be higher than this temperature. In this case, the mother should not be anxious, but check whether the child is wearing too much or covering too thickly. If it is confirmed that the baby has a fever, then physical methods should be used to reduce the fever. If the fever does not go down, the baby should be taken to the hospital in time. The child's condition must not be delayed.
