The consequences of children drinking too much water

Babies usually drink breast milk when they are just born. As they grow gradually, we adults will give them some prepared milk powder, which often makes them drink more water. But I don’t know if you know that you can’t give children too much water, too sweet water, too cold water, or water before going to bed. Drinking water before going to bed can easily affect the quality of children’s sleep.

The first food a baby eats is breast milk, which contains a lot of water. Water can make the skin shiny and promote digestion. Water is the source of life. However, there are also some things to pay attention to when feeding the baby. It is necessary to feed the baby scientifically and let the baby develop good drinking habits.

1. Newborns should not be fed overly sweetened water. Feeding newborns with high-concentration sugar water can speed up intestinal peristalsis or produce an inhibitory effect. The concentration of sugar water should be between sweet and not too sweet for adults.

2. It is best to drink boiled water. Beverages contain a lot of sugar and electrolytes, which will stay in your body for a long time and cause adverse stimulation to your stomach.

3. Do not feed water to babies before meals. Drinking too much water can dilute the gastric juice, which is not conducive to food digestion and will also affect appetite. You can drink a small amount of water half an hour before meals to increase the secretion of saliva in the mouth and help digestion of food.

4. Do not feed water to babies before going to bed. Babies cannot fully control their urination on their own. Drinking too much water can easily cause nocturnal enuresis and affect their sleep.

5. Don’t give ice water to babies. Drinking ice water can easily cause vasoconstriction in the gastric mucosa, affecting digestion or causing intestinal cramps.

When should you feed your child water, what kind of water should you feed him, and what kind of harm will it have on the child? I believe that everyone will have a deeper understanding after reading the above article. When feeding your child water, you must do it scientifically so that the child can grow up healthily. In general, feeding water is also a science.
