What’s going on when my baby has red spots on his chest and back?

Many babies are born with very sensitive skin. Sometimes they will be allergic to food, and will develop small bumps and red spots. Why is the baby's skin so fragile? As soon as the baby feels uncomfortable, mothers will be anxious to find ways to solve the problem of red spots. What’s going on when my baby has red spots on his chest and back? Don’t worry, moms. The editor has summarized a few points. Hope to give some advice to the baby.

Dermatitis and eczema are often used synonymously to refer to an inflammation of the skin, representing an allergic reaction of the skin to a variety of substances such as chemicals, proteins, bacteria and fungi. The term eczema has no special meaning whereas dermatitis has a restricted meaning. If dermatitis is used instead of eczema as a diagnostic term, it refers to a combined dermal and epidermal reaction, which can be acute, subacute or chronic.

Treatment

1 Western medicine treatment

(1) Systemic treatment

① Antihistamines mainly have a calming and antipruritic effect. It is best to continue using it for a few days after the child's skin lesions have subsided.

② Antibiotics should be given appropriately for cases with extensive skin lesions, erosion, and exudation, even if there are no obvious signs of bacterial infection.

③ In principle, steroid hormones are not used in general cases, but atopic asthma is an exception. For severe cases, it can be used for a short period of time (2 to 3 weeks) to control symptoms as quickly as possible.

④Immunosuppressants include azathioprine, cyclosporine A (CYA) and interferon. There is currently insufficient data to confirm its efficacy in treating AD.

(2) Local treatment

① Steroid hormones are used for skin lesions with severe inflammation but no obvious erosion or exudation. During the treatment, change the types appropriately. Use strong ones at first to control the symptoms as quickly as possible, and then gradually switch to medium and low-efficiency ones after a few days. For skin lesions in different parts of the body, attention should also be paid to the selection of varieties. If the skin lesions are extensive, especially in infants and young children, it is advisable to use a weaker or lower concentration preparation

②Antibiotics are used for infected skin lesions. Often used in combination with steroid hormones.

③ Tars such as coal tar and bran oil are effective against AD. Pastes are commonly used and applied alone or in combination with hormone preparations.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment

⑴Treatment based on syndrome differentiation

① Fetal heat syndrome

In infancy, the rash often occurs on the cheeks with erythema, densely packed needle-tip-sized papules, papulovesicles, blisters and exudates. When the exudate dries up, an orange-yellow crust forms, which is then peeled off to reveal a flushed erosive surface. The tongue is red, with little coating and purple fingerprints.

② Damp-heat syndrome

In the childhood stage, the most common rashes are pinhead papules, papulovesicles and small blisters, some of which are fused into patches with mild infiltration and are mostly concentrated in the elbows, popliteal fossa and other parts. The patient feels severe itching, and scratching causes bleeding or exudation. The tongue is red, the tongue coating is thin yellow, and the pulse is moist and rapid. Treatment method: clearing away heat, removing dampness and relieving itching.

③Blood dryness syndrome

In the adult stage, the rash mainly occurs on the elbows, knees, neck, etc. It is thick and lichenified with unclear boundaries. After scratching or friction, there is a small amount of exudation or blood scab, and it is dry, even cracked and uncomfortable, especially at night. The tongue is pale red, with little coating, and the pulse is thready and rapid. Treatment method: nourish yin, eliminate dampness, moisten dryness and relieve itching.

⑵Acupuncture treatment

It is advisable to use the method of equal tonification and equal drainage on acupoints such as Quchi, Zusanli, Xuehai, Weizhong, etc., leaving the needles for 30 minutes, once a day.

Diet and health care

Avoid spicy food, alcohol and other foods during the illness. For foods such as fish and shrimp that are likely to induce this disease, you should pay attention to the effects after consumption and after stopping consumption, but there is no need to avoid them blindly.

Preventive Care

1. Maintain good personal hygiene and take a bath regularly. The water temperature should not be too high, 30 to 40 degrees Celsius is appropriate.

2. Change clothes and bed sheets frequently, and wash and dry personal items such as mats and quilts regularly.

3. Keep the room well ventilated, clean and tidy, and avoid moisture.

4. Eat a healthy diet, get enough sleep, and do some exercise to strengthen your physical fitness. When traveling, it is best to wear long pants to prevent insect bites on your lower limbs.

Babies are small and thin, so mothers must pay attention to their babies' hygiene. Don't fail to bathe your babies just because you are afraid that they will catch a cold. The baby must be bathed regularly and changed into clean clothes. Babies are prone to bedwetting, so the baby's body must not be damp and must be kept dry. The bed sheets must be changed at any time and the room must be ventilated frequently. What’s going on when my baby has red spots on his chest and back? This problem has been solved for my friends. In order for your baby to have a good body, friends should take action.
