So, is there any good treatment for childhood pancreatitis? Let us now learn about the treatment of pancreatitis in children.

Treatment:

Principles of dietary therapy for acute pancreatitis The goal of dietary therapy is to avoid stimulation of the pancreas, inhibit the functional activity of the pancreas, and reduce enzyme secretion through strict control of diet, so as to promote pancreatic recovery and relieve the symptoms of the disease.

1. During the acute attack period, in order to inhibit pancreatic secretion and reduce the burden on the pancreas, all diet should be prohibited, and the energy required by the patient can be supplied by parenteral nutrition.

2. After an acute attack, when urine, blood amylase and white and red blood cell values return to normal, a liquid diet mainly composed of carbohydrates can be given. Carbohydrates have no stimulating effect on the exocrine secretion of the pancreas. At the same time, patients with acute pancreatitis digest and absorb carbohydrate foods well, so they can be used as the main source of energy for acute pancreatitis.

3. Protein is beneficial to the repair of pancreatic damage, but the supply should be moderate.

4. When pancreatic inflammation exists, the secretion of pancreatic lipase is impaired, affecting the digestion and absorption of fat. Therefore, during the acute attack period, all fat-containing foods should be limited. After the acute attack, some low-fat foods can be gradually added in appropriate amounts. After recovering from the illness, you still need to avoid eating fat-rich or irritating foods for a considerable period of time, and the daily fat intake should be limited to about 30g.

5. Sufficient vitamins should be provided, especially vitamin C, to facilitate the recovery of the disease. Chronic pancreatitis is basically the same as acute pancreatitis. 1. Stop all food and drink during an acute attack. 2. After the condition improves, you can adopt a light diet with low fat, high carbohydrates and appropriate protein, 5 to 6 meals a day. 3. Avoid alcoholic beverages and spicy foods. 4. Avoid foods high in fat. For patients with steatorrhea, provide 8.4 MJ (2000 kcal) of energy, 15-20 g of fat, 400 g of carbohydrates, and 60-80 g of protein per day. If accompanied by biliary disease, cholesterol should be limited to 300 mg per day. Food selection Recommended foods 1. Liquid food mainly composed of carbohydrates: thick rice soup, fruit juice, jelly, lotus root powder, almond tea, etc. 2. Protein foods with high biological value: soy milk, tofu, egg white, skim milk, fish, shrimp, chicken, lean beef, etc.
