2-year-old baby cries while watching TV

Two-year-old babies are full of curiosity about things outside and will often look at brightly colored things. Television is the most attractive thing for babies, mainly because the content on television is very attractive to babies. If a 2-year-old baby sheds tears while watching TV, it may be because the TV is too dazzling and irritating, or it may be because the TV screen is shaking, causing eye fatigue.

Due to the human eye watching too bright, color-biased, and shaking TV images for a long time, symptoms such as eye fatigue, dryness, tearing, swelling, pain, and even blurred vision, photophobia, and dizziness may occur, leading to decreased vision, refractive problems, and even affecting the eye's rhodopsin, visual pigments, ciliary muscles and other physiological functions, leading to serious eye diseases. This is the so-called "TV eye" phenomenon. A large proportion of China's 400 million young people suffer from "TV eye", which is a very important cause of myopia among young people.

When the brightness of the TV screen is too glaring, a large amount of rhodopsin on the retina will be consumed, and even rhodopsin will be damaged, causing temporary vision loss; when the TV screen lacks color, color cast will occur, which will damage the visual pigments on the retinal cones that sense red, green, and blue, causing the eyes to be unable to correctly distinguish colors; when the TV screen shakes or trails, it is like reading in a moving car. The eyes cannot focus correctly and symptoms such as eye fatigue and dizziness are very likely to occur. Over time, it will damage the ciliary muscles of the eyes, resulting in a decrease in the function of adjusting focus, causing myopia.

To solve the "TV eye" problem, it is necessary to develop a TV that is appropriately "eye-protecting", such as with moderate brightness, soft light, pure primary colors, natural colors, clear and smooth, and no jitter or trailing in dynamic images. This has very important social significance for protecting young people's eyesight and preventing their myopia. In addition to "eye protection" through television, the whole society should actively guide young people to do a good job in preventing myopia, develop scientific eye use habits, pay attention to eye hygiene, get proper rest and adjustment, and avoid excessive eye use.
