Newborn baby panics and won't sleep

Newborn baby panics and won't sleep

The world of newborns is very simple. Small things can attract their attention. Sometimes newborns never sleep, which gives their parents a headache. Generally, babies don’t sleep because they don’t have enough activity during the day. However, if the baby is frightened and doesn’t sleep at night, you should pay attention to whether the baby is feeling uncomfortable. So, what should we do if a newborn baby is frightened and refuses to sleep?

1. Adjust the appropriate temperature: If the temperature is high, the baby will feel irritable and cannot sleep well. Parents should not dress their baby in too many clothes; instead, they should wear comfortable cotton clothes. The quilt that the baby covers should be light, soft, warm and comfortable, but not too much. You can put a fan in the room to allow air circulation. When it is too hot, turn on the air conditioner, but the temperature should be kept at around 27℃.

2. Eat small meals frequently: Touch the baby's belly to see if it is bloated. If so, rub the baby's belly to help the baby expel the gas.

3. Give your baby more water, especially if he is fed with formula milk.

4. Change diapers frequently: It is best for babies to use diapers during the day to prevent their buttocks from getting red. If you use diapers at night, it is best to change them frequently, and not wait until you urinate a lot.

5. Parents should not let their babies develop the bad habit of falling asleep while being held in their arms, shaken, patted on the back or with a nipple in their mouth. Instead, they should put their babies in bed and let them sleep by themselves. The baby is used to being held, and he won't sleep well if his parents suddenly stop holding him. Touch your child more and give him or her more sense of security. Give your child more verbal communication. Even though the baby is small, he can’t speak, but he can listen and understand what his parents say to him.

6. The baby is born with congenital malnutrition. This is because the mother’s nutritional status is poor, which leads to insufficient calcium for the baby and affects his neurological development. This problem is not very serious. As long as the mother has enough milk and the child can eat, the milk will be replenished quickly.

7. Singing lullabies to your baby can also help him fall asleep peacefully. If your baby keeps yawning, even though he is reluctant to close his eyes and go to sleep, it means that he is very sleepy. At this time, you just need to pat him gently. If your baby is in a very good mood and not tired at all, you don't have to worry. First, choose a song with a light rhythm to attract his attention and calm his emotions, and then sing a lullaby with a slow beat.
