Baby has a lump behind the ear that moves

Many people touch the back of their ears when washing their face or taking a bath, and they will find something growing behind their ears. This small lump does not cause any adverse reactions, but there will often be a burning pain, which will scare themselves and cause many phobias. If there are small bumps behind the baby's ears and they move, this is generally considered to be a case of swollen lymph nodes and does not require treatment. Parents should observe regularly.

Swollen lymph nodes

For this kind of hard bag, we can divide it into four situations. The base of the human ear is where a large number of lymph nodes gather, and the lymph nodes are the detoxification system in our body. When we are affected by the disease, our immunity decreases, causing the lymph nodes to become inflamed and swollen. When they gather together, a small bag will appear.

The causes of lymphadenopathy are infectious diseases, lack of hygiene, and irregular diet. As long as we develop good living habits, maintain a good attitude, have healthy and good eating habits, and eat less spicy and irritating foods, we can prevent it.

The lymph nodes themselves do not need to be treated, just the primary disease. If the primary disease is unknown, you can observe it first. This possibility is small, and it is usually located on the bone surface and under the skin in the middle behind the ear. Don't pay too much attention to it and don't touch it often, otherwise it will get bigger.

Blocked sebaceous glands

The main reason for this formation is the obstruction of the sebaceous gland excretion duct, which causes the sebaceous gland cystic epithelium to swell with the gradually increasing contents and form a retention cyst. Sebaceous cysts occur slowly, are round in shape, have obvious boundaries with the surrounding tissues, are soft in texture, non-tender, and movable. Generally no symptoms.

Sebaceous cysts are more common in teenagers, especially unmarried men. Because they are in adolescence, they are energetic and have strong secretions. Therefore, if sebum is not cleaned in time, it is easy to accumulate behind the ears, which will form sebaceous cysts over time.

If you don't feel any pain when you touch it, it is a sebaceous cyst, which is mainly caused by the obstruction of the sebaceous gland excretion duct.

In this case, we just need to keep the skin clean and keep the sebaceous glands open to facilitate the excretion of secretions. Don't squeeze it!

Furuncle

Furuncles are also known as folliculitis in Western medicine. When hair follicles are invaded by bacteria, redness, swelling, burning sensation and pain will occur. Generally, they will become purulent after a few days and the disease will heal after the pus is discharged.

Don't touch it with your hands, as it will cause bacterial infection. You can buy some mupirocin ointment, fusidic acid ointment or 2% iodine tincture for external application, or take some anti-inflammatory drugs. Keep a regular schedule, pay attention to hygiene, and don't forget behind the ears when wiping your face.
