How to train your baby to crawl

From babbling to sitting and crawling, babies need to practice step by step to achieve certain results. As parents, you should not let your children learn to walk directly. Try to let them learn to crawl first and then walk. This is a very important process. If you want to train your baby's crawling ability, you can use these methods to solve it.

How to give your baby crawling exercises scientifically?

If the baby crawls less/does not have enough crawling practice or has no crawling experience, it is possible that the symmetrical tonic neck reflex will be immature, manifested as an unconscious confrontation between the upper and lower parts of the body, which will easily lead to sensory integration disorder, such as incoordination between vision and hearing, incoordination between vision and movement, incoordination between hearing and movement, etc.

Baby crawling early childhood training

01 Warm-up exercises

Studies have shown that crawling helps the development of babies' spatial perception, alertness, sensitivity and initiative. If parents want their babies to be healthier and smarter, they should start with crawling exercises~

Warm-up exercises before crawling training can not only relax the baby's muscles and bones, but also help the baby enter a state of concentration more quickly. While babies gain a sense of security through physical contact with their parents, the pleasant rhythm and gentle voice can also help them improve their sense of rhythm.

02 Crawling Exercise

During crawling practice, if your baby is unwilling to lie down, you can use small toys to attract (or divert) his attention. When the baby lies down, the parent uses one hand to protect the child's lower knees, and the other hand bends over their chest to hold their shoulders, and slowly lifts both hands up.

This movement allows the baby's front and hind limbs to continuously exert force, and exercise the coordination of the knee joints and legs. Remember to be gentle with your movements and encourage your baby with gentle conversations~

03 Space Exercise

When the baby has mastered the basic crawling skills, we might as well increase the difficulty slightly. With the help of some special props, let your baby practice climbing up and down, which not only exercises spatial awareness, but also improves the coordination of the cervical spine, limbs and torso.

At home, parents can also let their babies train in some soft environments, such as climbing up and down on cushions or sofas, but they must pay attention to safety, because the baby's cerebellum and vestibular organs at this stage are not fully developed, and they are prone to falling due to poor balance. Parents must be there to assist in the practice.
