How to correct children's pigeon feet?

Many children have pigeon-toed feet. If this phenomenon is physiological, then there is no need to worry too much, because children will naturally correct their body weight to make the standing posture more comfortable. This phenomenon will disappear automatically as the baby grows up healthily. If it is caused by tibial internal rotation deformity, then you need to go to the hospital for treatment. So how to correct children's pigeon-toed feet?

First, how to correct a child's pigeon-toed feet? Home correction: If a child is found to have pigeon-toed feet, corrective exercises should be performed early. You can train by walking in a straight line. If the child is younger, the parent can help the child practice from behind. Put your hands under the child's armpits to help the child walk along a wider straight line. During the walking process, parents should pay attention to letting the child's feet leave the ground, with the focus on the toes. When the baby bends his knees and steps forward, there can be a slight friction between the two knees. You must practice at least twice a day and persist for a long time to see results. For older children, you can let them walk along a tape or straight line on the floor in front of the mirror at least 1-2 times a day. When practicing, ask your child to pay attention to the movements of the instep and toes. With repeated practice, the "splayed feet" posture can be corrected over time.

Second, surgical correction: Treatment through surgery, designed according to the principles of human biomechanics, scientifically corrects children's irregular foot forces and helps the foot bones grow healthily.

Third, many children will have "O"-shaped legs or "X"-shaped legs, and both conditions are centered on the knees. For example, "O"-shaped legs are caused by the child's tibia bending inward, and when the legs are put together, an "O" shape will appear on the legs; "X" legs are the opposite, and are caused by knee valgum. When the legs are put together, the calves turn outward, forming an "X" shape with the thighs. In both cases, the sedan must be straightened and corrected slowly. Depending on the severity of the injury, the time required may vary. Some may take 2 to 3 years, and some may take even longer.

How to correct children's pigeon-toed feet? By wearing special pigeon-toed orthopedic shoes. This type of shoe is customized according to the inward rotation of the baby's feet. The upper is high to fix the baby's ankle joint. The bottom is made with a certain slope according to the cause of the baby's foot disease. As the baby's gait changes, a pair of shoes is generally replaced every six months.
