How to treat tonsillitis in children

Children are the apple of their mother’s eye and the treasure of the whole family. Family members are most worried when the baby is sick, especially in spring and autumn when there are big changes. Respiratory tract inflammation, colds, and fevers are what every baby will experience when they are young. Especially if tonsillitis is not treated correctly, the tonsils will have problems every time they have a fever or a cold in the future. The baby is too young and cannot speak, so many things can only be done by parents’ careful observation. If there is a problem, they should go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time. So how to treat children’s tonsillitis?

Tonsillitis is an infection of the tonsils caused by germs entering the mouth through saliva, hands, etc. It can generally be divided into acute tonsillitis and chronic tonsillitis. Acute tonsillitis can be divided into acute catarrhal tonsillitis and acute suppurative tonsillitis. The typical symptoms of tonsillitis are also divided into: chronic tonsillitis, acute catarrhal tonsillitis, and acute suppurative tonsillitis.

Lozenges are chosen by many parents because they are easy to give to babies. However, if lozenges are taken frequently, the bacteria may develop drug resistance. It can also easily damage the normal bacteria in the oral cavity, causing the normal oral flora to be imbalanced and leading to other oral diseases. The characteristic of using antibiotics is that they take effect quickly. Antibiotics can quickly control acute symptoms, but they are prone to recurrence. Repeated use of antibiotics can easily lead to drug resistance, damage liver and kidney function, reduce immunity, and destroy the body's normal flora. There are many types of topical treatments. Clinically, there are tonsillar crypt washing, intra-tonsillar drug injection, local cautery, local spraying, laser treatment, etc. Although these methods can inhibit bacteria and clear lesions, they are relatively painful. Among the local external treatments, Chinese medicine external plaster therapy is more popular among children. People used to think that tonsillectomy had no effect on the human body. But as people gain a deeper understanding of the tonsil as an immune organ, they become increasingly aware of its importance. Therefore, modern medicine does not advocate the easy removal of tonsils. If tonsils are removed, the respiratory barrier will be lost, which will affect the entire immune system of the human body. However, surgical treatment is not ruled out for children with concurrent serious systemic diseases.

Any disease is harmful to the body so disease prevention is very important. Pay attention to adding clothes to your baby in time, prevent him from catching a cold and let him get more sun. This can not only strengthen your baby's physique but also supplement calcium. Don't develop a picky eating habit for your baby. Eating habits are developed in daily life. A picky eater will not only cause disease but also affect your baby's growth and development. When your baby has a fever, it is best to use physical cooling. Don't take excessive amounts of antipyretics and anti-inflammatory drugs, which will cause great harm to your baby.
