3. Phlegm and blood stasis type.

Main symptoms: The patient may have hard and persistent menstruation, accompanied by chest tightness and poor appetite. Women may have irregular menstruation, or dark purple menstrual blood, or blood clots. The tongue may be pale or light purple, or have ecchymosis. The tongue coating may be thin white or greasy white, and the pulse may be stringy or astringent. Treatment method: Regulate Qi and activate blood circulation, resolve phlegm and eliminate goiter.

Western medicine treatment of nodular goiter in children

The treatment of thyroid nodules depends on the nature of the nodules and may include medication, follow-up observation, and surgery.

1. Medication

It is mainly a thyroid hormone suppression therapy. Commonly used thyroid preparations include thyroid powder (tablets) and levothyroxine sodium. These preparations can inhibit the secretion of pituitary TSH, thereby reducing the regulation of TSH-dependent nodules, causing the nodules to shrink or even disappear. During treatment, serum T4 and FT4 should be kept at the upper limit of the normal range, and serum TSH should be kept within the normal range.
