Children are more vulnerable and are easily invaded by various viruses, especially their blood sugar changes. Newborns are more prone to hyperglycemia, and the incidence rate is still extremely high. In order to prevent neonatal hyperglycemia, we will introduce how to prevent neonatal hyperglycemia. 1. Strengthen monitoring (1) For newborns who are prone to hypoglycemia, blood sugar should be monitored at 3, 6, 9, 12, and 24 hours after birth to detect hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia sooner or later. (2) For mothers who have used glucose shortly before delivery and for newborns who were resuscitated in the delivery room, blood sugar should be checked (using the test strip method or the micro-blood sugar method) upon admission to the ward, and then the required glucose infusion rate should be determined. 2. Use hypertonic glucose with caution: During neonatal asphyxia resuscitation and hypothermia, 25% hypertonic glucose should be used with caution. It is appropriate to dilute the drug with 5% glucose. It should be considered that under stress, blood sugar is often not low and hyperglycemia is likely to occur. 3. Adjust the glucose infusion rate and concentration: For high-risk infants and premature infants, the glucose infusion rate should be controlled and blood sugar should be monitored. If the blood sugar level increases, the infusion concentration and rate should be reduced immediately. Do not stop the infusion suddenly to prevent reactive hypoglycemia. 4. Parenteral nutrition: For newborns receiving parenteral nutrition, calorie supplementation cannot be achieved by simply increasing the glucose concentration. A variety of amino acid solutions and lipids should be added to achieve the goal of total intravenous nutrition. 5. For low birth weight infants and high-risk infants who can eat after birth, they should be fed sooner or later. They should be fed with sugar water or milk 2 to 4 hours after birth. For those who cannot be fed orally or through nasogastric feeding, glucose should be infused intravenously to maintain nutrition. In order to understand the child's health status, it is necessary to conduct regular physical examinations on newborns to check whether their blood sugar is normal. When high blood sugar occurs, timely treatment is required. In addition, the gastrointestinal tract will also affect the secretion of blood sugar, so mothers should not eat foods with particularly high sugar content in daily life. This will have a certain impact on their bodies when they breastfeed their children. |
