It is normal for a newborn to sneeze frequently. This is because the baby's upper respiratory tract has not yet developed well. It will be fine when the baby grows up. Frequent sneezing is a common phenomenon in infants under 1 year old, especially in the first 3-4 months after birth. Sneezing can be said to be a protective reflex of the body, which can indicate illness and expel foreign objects in the nasal cavity in time.

The nasal mucosa of newborn babies is more sensitive and they are prone to sneezing when stimulated by, for example, dust or smoke. There are many olfactory nerve fibers on the nasal mucosa, which is an important sensory organ of the human body and can respond promptly to various external odors.

The child has just come out of the sealed womb, which is isolated from the outside world. Any changes in temperature and humidity in nature can stimulate the rich olfactory nerve fiber endings in the nasal mucosa, inducing him to sneeze constantly. It takes a process for newborns to adapt to the external environment. Generally, it gradually stabilizes three or four months after birth, and the phenomenon of frequent sneezing gradually decreases.

If your baby has a cold, he or she may also sneeze. Typical symptoms of a cold: runny nose, blocked nose, cough, sore throat, tiredness, loss of appetite, fever. When babies under one year old catch a cold, they often experience fever (body temperature over 38°C), cough, red eyes, sore throat, and runny nose. Babies with a cold often have a decreased appetite. Babies under 6 months old often have difficulty feeding and breathing because they cannot breathe with a completely blocked nose.
