Three major abilities that children need to master before entering primary school

After bidding farewell to three years of kindergarten life, the children in the senior class entered primary school. Compared with kindergarten, primary school requires children to be more independent and self-reliant. This requires parents to focus on cultivating children's abilities in daily life. These basic abilities are very important for children to adapt to primary school life.

1. Cultivate more independent living skills

After entering primary school, many things cannot be done by parents on children’s behalf, and they have to independently complete the study, labor and other tasks assigned by teachers. Therefore, it is particularly important to cultivate children's ability to take care of themselves. In addition to encouraging their children, parents should also give them opportunities to exercise and let them complete the tasks you assign them independently within their capabilities. For example, let them fold their own clothes, eat, dress themselves, etc. Secondly, let the children organize their own things in a purposeful manner. Pack up your teaching and learning tools, and organize your school bag. These things seem simple, but they actually require children to take the initiative to consider many issues. Such as "Where should this thing be placed?" "What else do you need to bring?" "What else does the teacher require?" Repeating this process again and again can develop children's thinking and play an important role in their future learning. In this way, your child will do a lot of things before entering school under your guidance. With their self-care abilities enhanced, children will be able to adapt to the collective life in primary school after entering it.

2. Cultivate children's ability to communicate and cooperate with others boldly

Primary school is a more independent, autonomous, complex and changeable world of life. Cultivating children's sociability, learning to communicate and being good at communication, and having a good personality plays an extremely important role in helping children start a new life happily and successfully. If the relationship is not handled properly, it will affect the child's study and life. Therefore, parents should pay special attention to cultivating children's communication skills.

Parents should let their children interact with children of different ages; take their children out of the house more often and make friends, so that their children can have fun and become people who are willing and good at communicating. In addition, children should be taught to be humble, not make loud noises, not snatch toys from friends, dare to express themselves in front of peers, etc. These things may seem small, but they help create a friendly and cooperative atmosphere and enhance children's communication skills.

3. Enhance children’s sense of mission and responsibility

Young children often participate in activities based on their interests. After entering primary school, it is sometimes difficult to motivate children based solely on their interests. Therefore, we must start by cultivating children's sense of mission and transform their sense of responsibility for tasks into motivation for activities. To this end, parents should observe frequently, provide more guidance, assign tasks with strict requirements, and persevere.

Parents can cultivate children's sense of task by assigning them some housework, such as picking vegetables cleanly, sweeping the floor before a certain time, finishing homework before a certain time, etc. Parents should not only explain the tasks clearly, but also keep abreast of the children's task completion status, praise and encourage children who complete the tasks conscientiously, and let the children gradually form habits.

In short, as time approaches, the child will soon go to elementary school. Parents should work hard to do a good job in the transition from kindergarten to elementary school, help children form good habits and adjust their mentality. Let the children be willing to go to school, like going to school, and have a certain ability to overcome difficulties, so that they can successfully complete the transition from kindergarten to primary school and become an excellent primary school student.
