Baby Spurt

Baby Spurt

Every baby will experience his or her own growth spurt during the growth process. Children at this time are very different from usual times, mainly showing signs of not liking to sleep, being very noisy, and loving to eat. It is easy for some parents who do not have enough parenting experience to feel nervous, thinking that the series of abnormalities of their children may be due to health problems. Therefore, it is very important to grasp the baby's growth spurt. Let’s take a closer look below.

When is the baby growth spurt?

1. Generally speaking, babies go through a period of rapid growth at 15 days, one and a half months, or three months, which is called a growth spurt.

2. The growth spurt usually lasts 2 to 3 days, and sometimes it lasts a week. My baby is currently on the third day of the growth spurt, and it is still continuing. I have been going crazy these days trying to breastfeed her, feeding her non-stop every day.

3. When your baby is going through a growth spurt, make sure he or she eats well and sleeps well. Give your baby as much as he wants to eat, don't restrict him. The most important thing is to be full. In the few days after the growth spurt, your baby will need a lot of sleep.

How to comfort a newborn during the growth spurt

1. When the baby just enters the growth spurt, the mother doesn’t know why the baby suddenly eats so much. After feeding for a while, she is afraid that the baby will be too full and dare not continue feeding. That night, the baby doesn’t like to sleep and wakes up every half an hour to feed, which makes the mother miserable.

2. In fact, if the baby eats frequently, he can get more milk. Your milk supply will also increase. During a growth spurt, it is not necessary or recommended to add formula or express milk. These practices, including breastfeeding on a schedule, interfere with the natural supply and demand, preventing your body from producing milk as needed.

The growth spurt during the baby period often leaves many new mothers at a loss. Because I had just begun to understand a lot of my baby's signals, and then a sudden growth spurt disrupted everything, and I was even more confused about what to do. When the baby is in the growth spurt, what the mother needs to do is to try to comfort the baby, feed the baby, and comfort the baby as much as possible when the baby cries. Don't be nervous.
