How to take care of a newborn baby

Newborn babies need our care, because they cannot take care of themselves at this time. We need to help them do everything. If the child needs to urinate, parents should pump the urine for the child in time. If the child wants to drink milk, parents should give it to the child immediately, otherwise the child will cry and make adults feel upset. So how to take care of a newborn baby?

Babies have the basic abilities to forage, suck and swallow as soon as they are born, so it is best to feed the baby within 30 minutes after birth, preferably with breast milk, and usually once every 3 hours. The baby's consciousness is just emerging at this time, and his memory is the strongest. He will remember who his mother is.

The baby should be vaccinated with BCG and hepatitis B vaccine on the second day after birth to prevent tuberculosis and hepatitis B; he should also undergo thyroid function and phenylketonuria tests to ensure the baby's healthy growth. Parents should keep their babies away from crowded public places to avoid contact with sources of disease. If there are patients at home, they should be isolated. The ambient temperature should be suitable, preferably maintained at 20℃~25℃.

It is very common for newborn babies to spit up milk. This situation will continue until the baby is 3-4 months old. When the contraction function of the cardia matures, the frequency of spitting up milk will gradually decrease. To prevent the baby from spitting up milk, you should hold the baby upright after each feeding, let the baby's little head rest on the mother's shoulder, and then gently pat the baby's back until you hear the baby burp. If the baby does not burp, you can also massage the baby's back. In addition, if your baby is fed from a bottle, be sure to choose a nipple of the right size to prevent your baby from inhaling too much air. Nowadays, many new baby bottles have designs that reduce air inhalation, which can also help babies reduce spitting up to a certain extent.

Babies born in summer can go out to bask in the sun half a month after birth. Choose a windless time to take it outdoors, and the time you take it outside can be a little shorter at the beginning. Try to expose your baby's skin as much as possible, but be careful not to let direct sunlight hit your baby's body. Babies born in other seasons can also go out after the full moon if the weather is good. Sunbathing can promote calcium absorption.

When taking care of a child, the child's life and diet need to be taken care of reasonably. The child should know what to eat and what not to eat. Newborn babies must drink milk powder and breast milk. Other foods will have an impact on the child. When taking care of the child, you must pay attention to the child's intake and change the child's diapers in time.
