What are the symptoms of pharyngitis in children

When it comes to the symptoms of pharyngitis in children, we have to talk about the causes of pharyngitis in children. In fact, there are many reasons for pharyngitis in children, and they are all simple reasons that are closely related to our lives. For example, in life, children like to eat some drier foods, such as biscuits, candies and the like. They don't like to drink water after eating these foods, which will cause pharyngitis over time. What are the symptoms of pharyngitis in children?

1. Pay attention to the child's cough: When pharyngitis occurs, there will be hoarseness and dry cough. When coughing, a "kong-kong-kong" sound is made, like a dog barking.

2. Dyspnea: If the disease progresses further, the nostrils will flare and the sternum will rise during inhalation, resulting in poor inhalation accompanied by laryngeal sounds. Gradually worsening, significant inhalation dyspnea may occur.

3. Mild to moderate fever and three-depression syndrome: Most children may have fever to varying degrees, but high fever is rare, and most have mild to moderate fever. Physical examination may reveal cyanosis of the complexion and three depressions (i.e., significant depressions in the supraclavicular fossa, suprasternal fossa and upper abdomen during inhalation), which are particularly severe at night.

In addition, the symptoms of pediatric pharyngitis and pharyngitis are similar, and it is difficult for parents to distinguish them. The most effective way to distinguish them is to listen to the child's cough. For example, if the cough makes a "kong-kong-kong" sound, like a dog barking, it is usually pharyngitis.

Acute pharyngitis in children is mostly caused by viruses, bacteria or allergies, and is often secondary to pharyngitis, rhinitis or colds. Symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection such as fever, cough, runny nose, hoarseness, etc. appear 1 to 2 days before the onset of the disease, and the mental state is still good. As the disease progresses, the inflammation continues to spread downward from the pharynx, causing inflammatory swelling of the laryngeal mucosa. In addition, children's throats are narrow, and are the only way for them to breathe air. At this time, the sick children often have sudden bamboo-breaking coughs at night, difficulty breathing, and sometimes make "roar, roar" sounds like dogs barking. Significant inspiratory dyspnea can be seen in the child's suprasternal fossa, intercostal fossa and subxiphoid fossa depression, showing the typical three-depression symptom. Some children suddenly have a croupous cough, hoarseness and concave symptoms at night, which is called spasmodic pharyngitis. Persistent airway obstruction can cause blue lips or coma in children, and timely rescue is required. If not treated promptly, children often suffer from systemic failure due to ventilation disorders and sometimes die suddenly from severe hypoxemia.

To put it simply, the most prominent problem with pharyngitis in children is fever. Children are quite active and often like to rub and jump around. If they are not active one day, it is very likely that they are sick or have a fever. The child's fever is caused by pharyngitis. So what are the symptoms of pharyngitis in children? In addition to fever, there are many other symptoms of pharyngitis in children, such as cough, runny nose, etc.
