What to do if your child has oral herpes

Oral herpes in young children can be very painful for the baby. This disease is a very common disease inside the oral cavity. This disease will greatly affect the baby's appetite and development. So when we find oral herpes in young children, we must go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time. Don't delay time. Only treatment as soon as possible can make the baby get better faster.

Oral herpes is an infectious disease caused by enterovirus, which mostly occurs in infants and young children. It can cause herpes on the hands, feet, mouth and other parts of the body. Some patients may develop complications such as myocarditis, pulmonary edema, and aseptic meningoencephalitis. What should we do if children have oral herpes? First of all, keep the mouth clean, give water frequently, and eat liquid or semi-liquid food to reduce irritation.

Oral herpes in children often occurs sporadically after an outbreak. During the epidemic, collective infection is prone to occur in kindergartens and nurseries. This type of disease clustering also occurs in families. Cross-infection in hospital outpatient clinics and lax disinfection of oral instruments can also cause transmission.

Keep your mouth clean, drink plenty of water, and avoid irritating drugs and foods. You can apply herpes net locally to inhibit the virus, or spray watermelon frost, tin powder, etc. To prevent secondary infection in children with herpetic stomatitis, apply 2.5%~5% chloramphenicol cod liver oil once every 1~2 hours. For those with severe pain, 2% lidocaine can be applied to the skin before eating; lukewarm or cool liquid food is preferred. Those with fever can use antipyretics, and antibiotics can be used if there is a secondary infection.

Strengthening monitoring and improving monitoring sensitivity are the keys to controlling the spread of this disease. Collect qualified specimens in a timely manner and make a clear etiological diagnosis; do a good job in epidemic reports, find patients in a timely manner, and actively take preventive measures to prevent the spread of the disease;

Childcare institutions should conduct morning physical examinations and isolate and treat suspected patients promptly;

Contaminated daily necessities and tableware should be disinfected, feces and excrement of the child should be soaked in 3% bleaching powder clarified solution, clothes should be exposed to the sun, and the room should be kept ventilated;

During an epidemic, ensure good environmental, food and personal hygiene; wash hands before meals and after defecation to prevent disease from entering the body through the mouth; parents should keep their children away from crowded public places as little as possible to reduce the chance of infection; pay attention to the nutrition and rest of infants and young children, avoid sun exposure, prevent excessive fatigue and reduce the body's resistance; hospitals should strengthen pre-diagnosis, set up special clinics, and strictly prevent cross infection.

The above methods can solve the problem of oral herpes in children. In life, we must also let our babies develop good living habits and maintain oral hygiene. Only in this way can we stay away from and prevent this disease.

Be sure to go to the hospital for treatment in time, otherwise it will make our baby very painful.
